WHO WOULD MAKE A GOOD CHAPLAIN?
Voluntary Chaplains are to be selfless people who are emotionally and spiritually mature and able to share God's hope and comfort with people in hospitals, correctional facilities and survivors of tragedies. If not already trained in chaplaincy or crisis intervention, approved applicants will have a quick training course, which can be taken online or on site. Chaplains are also to be solidly grounded in God's Word and comfortable praying, when appropriate, with people in need. What kind of training should chaplains have? Jethro International Chaplaincy (JIC) requires training classes for those who are not in the ministry for, at least, five years. After being certified, a chaplain will also have access to online resources to update his training. Where do I get the JIC training? Leaders in the ministry for, at least, five years are ready to become a certified chaplain by, only, paying the fees and downloading the training material that can be studied at home. Regular Church members should: 1 - Fill out the application form, pay the correspondent fee and wait to be contacted by Jethro International Chaplaincy (JIC), to receive your user name and password to start downloading their study material. 2 - Or, Look for a class near you. Training courses are ministered in churches or hotel facilities and must be, at least, eight hours long. This course gives you the basic training to become a voluntary chaplain, certified by JIC, to assist, voluntarily, people in need, with God’s love. |
